Austin Cover Band, Uptown Drive tackle a magical time in music by covering a handful of famous Motown classics. Our variety band takes you on a musical journey by covering a plethora of genres of famous songs throughout the years. One of our favorite genres being Motown to take you back to a magical time in the 1960’s where soul music took the airwaves by storm. Motown records was born in 1959 in the booming city of Detroit, Michigan better known as the Motor City. This iconic label housed influential acts such as The Temptations, Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Gladys Knight and the list truly goes on and on. These artists would move the world with songs so memorable you can’t help but sing-along.
Austin Wedding Band covers The Temptations
Here’s a fun video covering the 1966 smash hit by The Temptations. This song was written by the famous Smokey Robinson and charted on the US Billboard Top 100 as a Top 30 hit, it wasn’t until the rock band Rare Earth covered this song that it made it to a Top 10 hit!
